Isn’t it a joy to make a card to celebrate the achievements of hard academic work, and that’s just what I had the pleasure of doing this week. My daughters partner is well on their way to becoming a Head Teacher, Whoop Whoop!!
Night of Navy forms the card base and paper from the Brightly Gleaming Designer Series Paper is my mat layer.

Onto this I arranged a variety of star shapes cut from Vellum and Foil card using the Stitched Stars Dies. The sentiment from a retired set called Incredible Like You, is stamped onto Whisper White. This is then mounted onto matching foil card, both are cut using the Layering Oval Dies. All were adhered to the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals to give some depth to the scene and I just stuck the centre of the large star down, to allow it to “float” on the card.
I kept the inside clean and simple. Using a base of Whisper White I stamped my Congratulations sentiments using another retired set called I Say Hello simply because it had a mortar board which was highly appropriate and the Incredible Like You set. Any sentiments that you own can be used that are suitable for the occasion that you are celebrating. This is a very flexible card that could easily be adapted to meet your requirements.

My Congratulations card shows that papers that appear at first glance to be very Christmasy, can in fact be used for different occasions through out the year. They are designed to be flipped and the reverse side is usually as attractive and useful as the first side. Many make great background prints that work well as a first base layer, as in the card featured here today .
