I needed a Congratulations card to send today. My daughter had called with exciting news of her promotion at work, and I didn’t have anything to hand. Having seen Thea Woodward’s card on the Demonstrator’s Blog Hop yesterday, I knew exactly the one I wanted to make for her. It is so gorgeous and simple I just wanted to share it with you here before I drop it in the post to Lois.
Isn’t this card lovely? Simple and elegant. The Quite Curvy stamp set and Curvy Dies are amazing. They are so simple to use and create a stunning card in just a few minutes. They are my absolute favourite set at the moment.
I used a Misty Moonlight standard card base and Whisper White layer on top of that I cut 2 pieces of the Sahara Sand DSP from Classic Christmas Designer Series Paper using the Curvy dies and stuck these down. I stamped my sentiment in Misty Moonlight and cut dome foliage in Misty Moonlight, Whisper White and Seaside spray using one of the other dies in the set. These were topped off with a bow tied from linen thread.
What could be quicker and more simple? I just love this colour combination and it would be suitable for anyone, male or female, young or old. The sprigs remind me of the laurel used in Roman head wreaths and in my mind signified success… if you get my drift? Possibly a bit tenuous know.
The inside of the card I left blue, although I had been tempted to put a white liner there (I would have done if my stamping had’t worked!) then to complete the card I added another few sprigs to match the front of the card.
I am delighted with my card and just wanted to share it with you before I dash to catch the post. Hopefully Lois won’t have time to read this before she opens the card tomorrow!!Product List
