The card I have made this month for my Customer Thank You’s is made from the gorgeous Expressions In ink Designer Series Paper. This is one of my favourite range of papers EVER. I’m not the only one either as it was so popular it was on back order a few months ago. Thankfully it is back in stock and I for one have treated myself to several packs as I just adore the colours and patterns in this paper. It is simply stunning paper, I love it!
I have used the “floating strip” technique to make my card and this technique will be featured in my Coffee & Cards sessions all this month. It is super easy, and shows off the Designer Series Paper beautifully.
How To Make The Card
Create a standard card base in Basic White using half a sheet of A4, scored at 10.5cm. Burnish with a bone folder.
Cut a piece of Window Sheet 9.5cm x 13.5cm
Cut a piece of your chosen Designer Series Paper 9.5cm x 13.5cm, then cut this piece into 1cm strips, carefully keeping the strips in the order that they were cut.
Using liquid glue, stick the strips onto your window sheet. Begin at the top and leave a small space between each strip as you work your way down the sheet. Allow to dry completely.
Cut a gold foil leaf frond using the large leaf shape from the Artistic Dies and stamp a sentiment of your choice onto a 1cm piece of Basic White card stock. I used the “Thank You” from the Pansy Patch Stamp Set.
To assemble you card stick the completed window sheet down onto your card base front. Do this by laying foam adhesive strips behind alternative DSP strips. This will hide the adhesive from view. Position your gold foil frond and your sentiment onto the front of your card. this completes your project.

Really hope that you like my card and feel inspired to try out the floating strip technique. It really is fun to do and much simpler than it looks. You can make a card that will really wow your family and friends.
